Karate Kid...

Jeremy is so happy Mady is learning self-defense all ready at such a young age.  (He's even more happy she's doing it left-handed!)
Great form Mady!

A Girl and Her Dog

Mady and Lexi are forming such a bond lately and I think it's so cute!  When Lexi barks (which has been quite often lately grrrr...) Mady is beginning to look for her. Here are a few things Mady and Lexi like to do together.

Friends! And Some Random Thoughts

A highlight of Mady and I's week without daddy was visiting our friends Dana and Markie.  Mark is exactly 6 weeks younger than Mady.  It was so much fun seeing them together!
Mady looks like a giant compared to Mark even though they are only a pound difference in weight!

Mady didn't like to sit on the chair by Marky at all!  As long as this boy phobia continues for another 30 years, I'll be happy:-)
So I was very excited this week when my cloth diapers I had ordered came in....however, when putting them on Mady I realized her bum is still too little and I may wait a little longer until using them full time.  I can't wait to put these pretty colors on her!

Over the last week, I've also made some homemade diaper wipes.  I absolutely LOVE them and will never go back to the packaged kind in the stores.  The ones I make smell so good and it's so nice to know what they're made out of...
Bottles:  I am pretty sure we have enough bottles to open up a store.  We've tried many different kinds: playtex ventaire, playtex drop in liners, Dr. Brown's, Madela bottles, and last but not least the Gerber Slow Flow.  Of all the bottles we have bought, the cheapest by far has been the Gerber and guess what kind my wonderful daughter loves?  The Gerber!  Waahoo!  She's a girl after my own heart...cheap is good!

Finally, here are some pictures from our week.
They took a nap together one day.

Mady LOVES looking at books.  She is really focusing on pictures which makes this teacher's heart happy:-)

Yes Lexi does spend a lot of her day staring at Mady.  She has been licking her a little too much lately on the face out of rebellion...

I love her sweet smile!  She has been so much more interactive with her playmat gym thingy...

Photos from the Last 2 Weeks

Over the last 2 weeks, we have been very busy.  Since Mady's 2 month appointment, we have been meeting with a speech therapist to determine why Mady girl doesn't eat very well.  It was determined that she has acid reflux and so now she gets to take medicine 4 times a day!  Here is a picture of her "cocktail" as Jeremy and I call it.

Even though its sometimes a pain to keep up with her medicine, it has made a HUGE difference!  She is now eating all of her ounces at every meal and is keeping them down!  She also has been gaining weight which is a HUGE answer to prayer!  We're so excited about her progress and honestly, she doesn't seem to mind taking her medicine, especially the kind in the orange bottle.

Here are a few more pictures from the last couple of weeks.
I LOVE her cute cheeks in this one!

She loves talking to herself in the mirror.

Beautiful blue eyes!

Having a conversation with daddy.

A new outfit Mimi gave her!  She wore it to church on Sunday.

2 Months!

It's hard to believe Mady is 2 months old already!

 Weight: 8 lbs 13 oz (8th percentile)
Height: 22 1/2 inches (57th percentile)
At 2 months, Mady girl is smiling so much!  She loves to be talked to and definitely tells you what's on her mind!  She is starting to bat at objects especially the hanging mirror on her floor gym.  She LOVES mirrors!  The girl can look at a mirror, talk to herself, and be quite entertained for several minutes at a time!  This gives mommy time to cook dinner:-)Mady is still a snuggle bunny which makes me so happy!  She likes to be rocked before bedtime and loves when I sing to her.  (Don't ask for any vocal demonstrations as they are only for my daughter!)  She is sleeping pretty good at night, going at least 6 hours. We are still struggling with eating, however, and her weight definitely shows that.  Please continue to pray for us as we are now working with a speech therapist to try to get Mady to suck better from her bottle.  We are also switching formulas in the hope that it will settle her stomach a bit, since part of her eating difficulties is caused by stomach issues. I know Mady may never be "chunky" but hopefully we can get her feeding issues figured out so this Mommy doesn't have to worry!

Things Mady Can Do!

Mady has been growing up so big lately!  It's like all of the sudden she's much more active, alert, and fun to play with!  Here are some things my little girl can do.
Look in the mirror.  She talks to herself and is quite entertained by a mirror for 15-20 minutes.

Smile for the camera.

Talk to her daddy.

Stick out her bottom lip when she cries.

Look beautiful in her dress she wore to church.

Smile for her mom.

Look silly.  This picture makes me laugh!
